Danube Campaign: Turn 2

It's now April 16, 1809, also known as "Turn 2" of our Danube campaign. Napoleon is still en route from Paris, which means the French command structure remains a bit of a mess. Danube campaign: turn 1

9/26/2015

Welcome to Part 1 of what will ultimately be a twelve-part series, following each turn in our club's latest Napoleonic campaign. Feel free to refer back to the introductory post for a quick overview of the rules and set-up for this map-based campaign.

1809 Danube Campaign

9/16/2015

Following our long-running and highly enjoyable 1815 Campaign, the club is about to embark on a very different Napoleonic operation. Instead of a linear sequence of pre-determined scenarios, our newest campaign will be a more exciting, map-based, free movement system.

Using the new Blucher rules with 6mm miniatures, we will be covering twelve days of critical action along the Danube, where Napoleon and Archduke Charles fought a series of major battles in April 1809. Our own version of this campaign is based largely on the research, maps, and OOBs presented in John Gill's fantastic study, Thunder on the Danube.
