The Last Stand

All roads have led here, to Waterloo. This was the final battle in our club's 200th anniversary event and heading into the main event the French held a wide victory point lead of 173-to-95. It would take a supreme, masterful effort from Wellington to keep the restored emperor at bay. Will Blucher arrive in time?

"Vorwarts!"

The Battle of Ligny was the second scenario in our club's linked 1815 campaign series. This was a rather large 6-player game on a 6'x8' tabletop with over 2,000 painted miniatures. The Ligny scenario is actually quite brief--just 12 turns--but plenty of carnage was destined to unfold on the afternoon of June 16.  Could "Marshal Vorwarts" hold the line?

The opening crossroads...

The celebrate the 200th anniversary of the 1815 Waterloo campaign, our club decided to play all four of the major engagements between the French and their Anglo-Prussian opponents. We used Age of Eagles in 15mm scale, totaling victory points between all the linked games. For our players, this meant that casualties do matter--quite a bit, actually--so caution could not be thrown to the wind!
