Time is working against Napoleon in his bid to complete the campaign by capturing both major Danube crossings. Will the Emperor attack in haste with piecemeal forces? Or might the Austrians view the long, snaking column of French troops as an invitation to make a forceful counter-attack?
APRIL 24, Turn 10
Weather Report: Sun
Journal: April 24th passed as a continuous, uninterrupted series of cavalry skirmishes between French and Austrian vedettes. The French sought to expand their line of advance by securing an additional road south, but once again the Austrians harried the them at each new turn, funneling the French advance down only one major road. Unable to expand his front, Napoleon drew up his army directly across from the Austrian main host. If this was the ground Archduke Charles had chosen, it would be put to the test tomorrow.
