It's now April 16, 1809, also known as "Turn 2" of our Danube campaign. Napoleon is still en route from Paris, which means the French command structure remains a bit of a mess. In game terms, the French will suffer a movement penalty on the campaign map. Can Archduke Charles capitalize on the advantage?
APRIL 16th: Turn 2
WEATHER REPORT: Overcast, mud
JOURNAL: Yesterday's soaking rain may have passed, but the mud remains. Armies march at a reduced rate today--the French even more so because of Napoleon's absence. Both armies elected to deploy across wide fronts, which makes discerning their intentions all the more difficult. Based on map proximity, it appears that a contest for the critical Danube crossing at Ratisbon (Regensburg) could be imminent.
