    CLUB RULE REVIEWS

Rules will be reviewed on the basis of 5 categories, Presentation, Playability, Mechanics, Historical Flavor, and Support. These categories are weighted, with Playability and Mechanics representing the most important criteria. Scores are given on a 1-10 scale, with 1 being the lowest possible score. By their nature, reviews are highly subjective but please be as fair, objective, and critical as possible. Please do not review a set of rules unless you have played in a game!

Only first names will be public when review results are released.

    PRESENTATION (10% of total score)
In this category, consider the physical, printed quality of the book & its production value, as well as the organization, clarity, and quality of the writing.
    PLAYABILITY (30% of total score)
In this category, consider how flexible the basing could be, if the figure and tabletop requirements are reasonable for the average player, as well as the ease of learning and speed of play for the rules.

    MECHANICS (30% of total score)
In this category, consider the command-and-control system, how movement and combat are handled, and how morale is simulated. More broadly, are the rules innovative and unique?
HISTORICAL FLAVOR (20% of total score)
In this category, consider the "period feel," whether the rules accurately reflect the challenges of the era they represent, and how the rules reward the use of historical tactics.

    SUPPORT (10% of total score)
In this category, consider the level of support to be found online, including supplemental material, availability of FAQs, player forums, battle reports, free scenarios or downloads, etc.
    FINAL VERDICT
Offer a final, one sentence summary of your take on the rules. You can emphasize any element of the review--whatever you find most important to convey concisely. As an example, my final verdict on Black Powder will read: "Beautifully printed and well marketed, Black Powder is a flavorless, forgettable experience."
